Feeling Green

Ok, whose idea was it to shoot in a forest?! In theory it should be simple to colour but in practise, I’ve never mixed so much green dye.

And then there’s the undulations 🤦‍♀️

When fibre paper gets wet, it curls and undulates. This then causes the dyes to sit in little pools of water which slowly evaporates to leave a start line where the dye water solution sat instead of absorbed.

To combat this I have to allow everything to dry and then use a heated press, which returns the paper to a flat surface to ‘paint’ on but not for long, oh no, as soon as the dye solution hits, the paper fights back.

Patience is key, unfortunately I’m quickly running out.

So I ask again, whose idea was it to shoot in a forest 🙈🤷‍♀️
